Why Pure Lead AGM Batteries?
What goes into a pure lead AGM battery, and is it the right choice for your application?
Pure lead batteries are a type of valve-regulated lead acid (VRLA) battery or sealed lead acid (SLA) battery.
"Pure lead" indicates that the material used in the battery's plates is more than 99.99% pure and there are fewer impurities in the mix. Pure lead plates will resist corrosion longer than standard lead acid plates and offer more benefits in terms of warranty, runtimes, and temperature tolerance.
AGM stands for "absorbent glass mat."
AGM batteries include a fiberglass mat that separates the battery's positive and negative plates. The mat absorbs the acid, enables efficient current flow.
Like all VRLA batteries, pure lead AGM batteries include a one-way valve that controls the release of oxygen and hydrogen during recharging. Pure lead and AGM technologies provide maintenance-free operation and no-spill design.
