The presentations will guide data center decision-makers on the most effective strategies to implement efficient battery backup in the era of artificial intelligence (AI) and Edge computing. The four talks will be part of DatacenterDynamics (DCD) Connect events in London, Cancun, Sao Paulo, and northern Virginia.
Erick Soares, Senior Product Manager, UPS and Renewables, will analyze how AI and Edge computing are redefining today’s data center landscape. Edge data processing combined with AI enables companies and society to tackle complex problems more efficiently. Understanding how these innovations can affect power demand is key to effective data center battery backup.
Efficient Uninterruptible Power Supply for AI and Edge Computing
In the series, Soares and other C&D representatives will provide insights on designing the most efficient UPS power backup system. The talks will be about how AI and Edge computing impact backup power, and the special features of each technology.
The hour-long sessions will also discuss three key criteria in selecting a battery for UPS, including:
Sustainability. Batteries with longer life and greater efficiency help data centers meet their ESG initiatives.
Power Technology. Selecting the appropriate chemistry (i.e. valve regulated lead-acid [VRLA], lithium-ion) for the application will help ensure the most efficient backup system.
Total Cost of Ownership or TCO. Batteries that require less maintenance and have a longer service life will reduce the expense of the UPS over the life of the system.
